Topographical maps in India are prepared by the Survey of India. It is the official government organisation responsible for surveying and mapping the country. Established in 1767, it produces detailed and accurate maps that show natural and man-made features such as rivers, roads, hills, and settlements. These maps are widely used for planning, defence, education, and development purposes.
